Description
Calamityware porcelain place settings for 12 dinner guests in a discounted bundle. Each dinner plate features a different calamity from Don Moyer's sketchbook. The mugs are identical but depict a plethora of calamities.

There are two options for the shallow bowls and small plates: Insects (this bundle) or Calamities (click here to switch to the calamities bundle).

This 48-piece bundle contains:
  • 12 different Dinner Plates: Series 1, Series 2, and Series 3
  • 12 identical classic 12-ounce Things-Could-Be-Worse Mugs
  • 12 Fly Shallow Bowls (3 sets of 4 unique designs)
  • 12 Ant Small Plates (3 sets of 4 unique designs)
Dimensions & More

  • Made at the award-winning Kristoff porcelain workshop in Poland.
Care
  • Food safe.
  • Microwave safe.

  • Porcelain is both delicate and durable. We think you’ll enjoy Don’s blog about caring for your new treasures.

Where it's made

These porcelain pieces are fired at the Kristoff workshop in Valbrich, Poland, one of the oldest and grandest porcelain workshops in the world. Kristoff has been making porcelain since 1831 and its work can be found in museums and in the palaces of royalty. Our porcelain designs are in-glaze, which means slightly melted into the surface of the piece, to ensure a beautiful crisp image for years to come. Photo by Porcelana Krzysztof Sp. z o.o.

Stories Galore

I absolutely adore my new dishes! My friends and I are considering a dinner party where we each have to tell a story based on the plate we've just cleared.
If I had a "style" for decorating, it would be "classy weirdo." This set looks beautiful at first glance but delights the imagination upon further inspection. ❤❤❤

Why Did We Wait?

My wife talked about getting these dishes for a year but kept holding back because we already have enough dishes to serve the Roman legions, who hardly ever show up. After a year I couldn't stand it and ordered them for her birthday. They are everything we hoped for and more. Every day it's a delight to pull one out and reveal a new calamity. Our first words at dinner are "which one do you have"? Not only is the quality very high, but they came packaged to withstand a major earthquake. To top it off, we received a very nice handwritten thank you card from Don. If you're on the fence, don't wait. You won't be sorry.

Birthday gift cost me!!!

My sister gave me the 1st series as a gift for my birthday. She thought these would "blend in" with my antique blue and white dinner plates and be "surprise" for diners. I laughed so hard as I unwrapped each one. I immediately called her and thanked her for costing me the price of adding the other 2 sets to complete the 12!!!! These are quality made, fabulously designed and bound to put a smile on anyone who "notices" the patterns. I have replaced my regular dinner set with these and am enjoying them daily! Also bought the ant salad plates....startled my son the first time he went to put a sandwich down!

A cataclysm of fun!

Who knew that supper time could be so entertaining especially now that we are all saying home and social distancing. I LOVE these dishes and hubby does too. We use them everyday and I can’t help but smile. Can’t wait to have company over and let them discover their own calamity after they clean their plate!

Coiuldn't be happier

After backing multiple Calamity Kickstarter projects and ordering a few items individually directly from Calamity, I made the decision we needed to have all Calamity had to offer in a complete set. I went to their website to find they had this sale called "Dinner for 12". I would have bought the set regardless due to our love of their products but, the sale made it a no-brainer. I further enhanced the set with an additional purchase of the Teapot set. All this was for my wife for our wedding anniversary. I couldn't have gotten her anything she would have loved more than this set. We use most pieces daily and deliberate each use as to who gets which plates. We are now anxiously waiting our "Vigilant Dragons" cookie jars we recently backed.

Every item we ordered, or backed, was delivered to us in perfect condition and in a timely manner. Our communications with Calamity to ask questions or make special requests were responded to quickly and with an obvious dedication to making sure we were happy. Looking forward to seeing what else oozes from Don's creative juices burred in his gray matter.

Thanks Don, Lynnette and all others that work hard and tirelessly to make Calamity everything we could ever expect from an online business. Please don't change a thing and keep the goods coming!!

So many hidden surprises

As a very belated wedding gift for me and my husband, I bought the whole set for 12, and we absolutely love it. We use these dishes daily, for every meal, and they never fail to delight me and make me smile. Every time I pull one out of the cupboard I look to see which design I got, and see if I can find a new fun detail. Not only are they fun, though, they are very well made, and hold up well to daily use and going through the dishwasher. I had to wait for these to be back in stock and it was well worth the wait!

Totally Cool Stuff!

I surprised my wife with the "Dinner for 12" set, the serving tray, and tea set, and she was absolutely thrilled. Every item is very high quality product, and I, too, could not be happier with the purchase. The cool, quirky artwork is worth a long look every time I use a piece, and that is almost daily. The entire order arrived quickly and was packed perfectly.

The greatest porcelain designs since time began

The designs on these beautifully made porcelain pieces have restored for me one modicum of hope in humanity. You must support the work of great artists like Don, lest you become like so many rich, unfulfilled barbarians.

Absolutely lovely, although I will say that the ant is better executed than the fly. Love my dishes!
