Can an aquatic creature know that it is wet? This wet/dry enigma has perplexed philosophers for centuries. In this pattern, some of the octopi are so concerned about staying dry that they're carrying umbrellas.
If you need more philosophical towels at your house, you came to the right place.
Made from 100% cotton and woven in ecru and anthracite gray, these are not your capricious, old terrycloth towels with fat, unruly loops. Instead, the jacquard loom produces a flat weave to make towels that are lightweight and refined with a delightfully tactile surface, similar to Turkish towels. Reversible design allows the creatures to cavort backwards on the reverse side of each towel.
If you're new to this style of towel, we share some helpful tips in the care instructions below.
Set includes two big bath towels (30" x 58") and two hand towels (14" x 24").

These towels are not traditional thick-looped terry cloth—they are a thin, flat-weave cotton, similar to Turkish cotton towels. Because they are so special, they have some optional care instructions to ensure they perform their very best.

Using the classic technology of an extra-wide jacquard loom, our friends at Piscatextil in Portugal painstakingly weave our patterns into cotton throws, bedspreads, towels, and rugs. Everyone loves the substantial weight of these textiles and the delightful texture that results from the interaction of the dark and light threads.

We have had these towels for about 2 years now and they are soft and so absorbent. I love how large they are and how quickly my skin dries when I use them. Definitely recommend!
I was unsure when I first received these towels, but now that I have washed them a few times I love them! So soft and absorbent not to mention adorable. Please make more cephalopod items!
I have always liked Turkish towels, and these good quality, as well as huge. And the octopuses are delightful!
Don's done it again! There's nothing like the Stay Dry Octopi towels and bath mat to compliment the Sea Monster shower curtain in my newly tiled bathroom! The towels are not only beautiful, but they're thirsty as heck and feel wonderful.
I'm giving them 5 stars, but only because I'm not allowed to give them more!
I followed the care instructions, soaking them overnight in cold water and then machine washing also on cold, and they’re soft and absorbent! I’m impressed with how fast they air dry, and how well they dry you off even with how lightweight they are. This fun design looks fabulous with the sea monster shower curtain! I have them alternating on their reverse sides here - another fun perk!
I love these. They feel so wonderful and they look wonderful. I am 5'9 with super thick, long, curly hair and I find these towels are wonderfully absorbent and are bigger than some other towels Ive had. Ive been on the Turkish towel/ waffle towel bandwagon for years, so I am used to alternates to terrycloth. I absolutely love these towels and ordered more the day the first ones arrived.
So happy with this purchase. Quality product and LOVE my octopuses!!
I did follow the instructions about soaking first, and that works, so all of you who didn't and left too few stars, try that and come back. I live in a big beautiful house that is not mine, but the owner leaves me here with her dogs and cat to keep them alive. Like I said, it's a beautiful home, but lacks some quirkiness and character. Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware make nice things, but these Octopus towels are the nicest! My only complaint is that I wish the bath mat was the same color as the towels. The dark gray is a powerful magnet for dog and cat hair, so I guess I will have to do something with it somewhere else. I have taken two different types of photos. Type 1:Staged, and Type 2: Real Life. Well, only one of the staged once would fit here, so that's all you get. Thank you! I love them (except for the mat, but nobody is perfect)!
You guys hit it out of the park with these bath towel sets. They arrived a little after Christmas soooooo..... I could be forgiven for keeping them (and NOT mailing them to their originally-intended recipients). They would go nicely with my Sea Monster shower curtain. ;-) Seriously great-quality work and fun. Keep being you.
As someone who welcomes our cephalopod overlords, I wasted no time in backing these through the kickstarter. As I had expected from the description and photos, they are very similar to Turkish towels, so I soaked them for several hours in cold water and washed them before use--without that step, it would have been like trying to dry off with a saltine. I personally love Turkish towels, but if you prefer loopy terry towels, these may not be for you.
