Vegeterribles Completer Pieces

I was soooo excited to order these in the kickstarter set. The package arrived a few days ago and I was giddy as I opened the boxes... only to find that these are made in China, not Poland like the rest of my set (I have a full service for 12 plus all the serving pieces, tea set, etc). The porcelain is markedly more ivory than the bright white of the rest of my set, it's duller and just doesn't match. And the blue detailing is SO MUCH darker than the royal/cobalt blue on the other pieces. It's a dark navy. I was told "the pictures on the website show the color" but in looking at the pictures on the website, no. They look like a match to the rest of the set on the website and they are A LOT darker ivory with significantly darker blue detailing. The photo shows the new completer set on the left (the gravy boat, butter dish & S/P shakers) and my older teacup/saucer & sugar bowl for comparison. The lighting is "that" great, but even in this pic you can see the differences. It is VERY noticeable.

I have previously purchased a number of Calamityware porcelain items. I love them all and am always on the look out for more unique pieces. So, I ordered the Veggiterribles set.

I unboxed the set this week, and I am so disappointed. The porcelain feels thick and clunky. The design is not as sharp as my other pieces, and the blue color is much darker.

All of my previous pieces were manufactured in Poland. The Veggiterribles set says made in China. I think this has affected the quality. It’s just not as special, and I will look very closely at manufacture and origin before I place another order.

Veggiterribles set is a cute concept, and a huge miss, for me.

Just placed my 3rd order for additional Calamityware service pieces, after receiving my full set of 12 , and I’m waiting for stock to come in so I can place a 4th order! Needless to say, I adore Calamityware. Beautifully made porcelain. Designs are outrageously creative, original, and humorous without being scary or gory or ‘In your face’. At first glance one just sees very lovely blue/white porcelain. Awesome with just little touches of quirkiness, humor, and just a tiny bit of sass. Shipping is unbelievably fast and items are super protected and well packed.
