Description

This 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle includes more than 100 wave-tossed creatures—all straight out of Don’s sketchbooks. Does it make you think of bouillabaisse?

Puzzles are great because you can do them alone or with others. You get to set the pace. You can do the whole puzzle in one marathon session or drag the effort out over weeks. Solving a puzzle sharpens your cognitive skills and helps you learn to focus on details. Snapping a puzzle piece into position feels good and probably releases a flood of endorphins. How nice. And jigsaw puzzles don’t require any batteries, instruction manuals, or wifi.

We believe the best jigsaw puzzles have three vital qualities. First, lots of color. Next, oodles of details. No boring expanses of sky or snow. Last, a good puzzle is puzzling—a little mysterious and full of false clues, duplicates, and distractions. The Ocean Commotion puzzle is designed to give you abundant colors, beguiling details, and mild mystery.

Printed on specially made, heavy puzzle board.

Some have said that this is Calamityware's most difficult puzzle, but it's not so exasperating that you will have to be institutionalized. We included an overview of the whole image on a cheat sheet and box base, so you and a friend can both have a reference while working on the puzzle. If you believe the puzzle is too easy, try solving it without referring to the cheat sheet. If it is still too easy, do it blindfolded.

CAUTION: Choking hazard from small parts. Not suitable for small children or adults who lack common sense.

Still Admiring the Box

I bought this puzzle recently. It's been sitting on my coffee table for several weeks, now. I keep staring at the box, wondering when I'll have the guts to open it and start. It looks even more difficult than the Apes and Aliens puzzle, which I absolutely loved working! The box is wonderful to look at. However, the colors look so muted and the sea monsters are so similar, I expect working this puzzle will leave me with a lot less hair. I'm looking forward to it, but I have to screw up my courage first. It's a good thing I'm retired! This could possibly take me the rest of life to finish, but it will be a pleasure all the way.

Whoa Nelly. Or...Nessie.

Do you like sea monsters?
Do you like to reassemble images printed on quality cardboard?

This is, legitimately, the HARDEST puzzle I've ever done. Holy cow. But when I put that last piece in, it was SO SATISFYING. Great and humorous, adorable, and creepy monsters in more configurations and variety than you'd expect. Find the hidden capybara! Find the hidden cat! Find the hidden orangutan! Find the octopus in plain sight!

Gave it to my brother in law to drive him mad. We'll see if it works.

Murderous puzzle but deeply satisfying

Think it can't get worse than a gradient puzzle? Insert evil grin.

Almost better than a real kraken

This puzzle was an awesome idea. I can see that it's going to be a real challenge to put together, and when I'm done it's getting framed for my freaky wall.

Puzzled

This will have me puzzled for hours while being mesmerized. I still want the evil twins one, but this will do wonderfully. It's a monstrous beauty.
