Set of four shallow bowls to go with your Calamityware dinnerware. There are four different bowl designs and each includes a plump, black fly. What a calamity! With bugs in your bowls, you’ll never dine alone. The shallow bowls are perfect for soup, stews, salads, ice cream, and your world-famous chili. The well is about 0.75" deep (2 cm) and holds 8 oz (230 mL) of liquid.
Rich blue image on 8.75” (22 cm) diameter white porcelain bowls. Food safe. Microwave safe. Dishwasher safe. Produced at the award-winning Kristoff porcelain workshop in Poland using the in-glaze decoration process. That means the image is slightly melted into the surface like the fine porcelain you see in museums. Designed by Don Moyer and initially launched as a Kickstarter project in 2016.
Remember, each plate design is different—four different borders and images. The blues in this set of bowls will match each other. And, although they will look good with your other Calamityware dinner plates, the blues may be slightly different from the plates because they were fired at different times.
Porcelain is both delicate and durable. We think you’ll enjoy Don’s blog about caring for your new treasures.
There's that moment when you wake up in the morning and find yourself inexplicably overcome with terror and panic. You've just remembered what your life is about, and the abyss waits just beyond your front door. I've found that a cup of coffee and a lightly toasted bagel, served on one of these beautiful plates, allows me to face my day with a can-do attitude and an acceptable level of terror behind my eyes.
While my wife likes the whimsy of the various plate sets, the fly in these bowls is too much for her. But, I love it. And, my grandchildren think discovering a bug is fun.
Perfect for pasta and salads. Certainly a great way to get kids to eat their salad so they can find where the fly is hiding. As with all Calamityware, each one is a work of art and worth the price you pay.
I got the four soup bowls and used one of them already. I just love them! Makes me smile every time I look at them. I have the dinosaur platter, too. Got it at Christmas time, and whenever guests got a really good look at it, they were delighted.
Love these soup bowls! They are the perfect size for our smaller dinner portions of pasta. And the ants just give it that element of surprise.
Really like how these feel and look!
We use these all the time and every time, someone will ask where they can get a set. Solid and overall cool, these are a must have!
I've had my bowls for a little over a week now and I could not be happier. i just discovered that there are four different rim patterns! I intentionally have not examined each too closely as I really love discovering new things as I am eating my dinner. I will soon be proud owner of all the dinnerware. Keep them coming, Don!!
First of all....Great Customer Service! Thanks for replacing my broken bowl! I love the quality of these bowls. I love the reaction of people using them for the first time even more!
Delightful, whimsical bowls that add a touch of humor to dour winter landscapes. They’re well crafted, durable, yet fine porcelain. I’d like to see a larger, but identical wide lid option, for bigger servings of soup, or pasta. Maybe use these as salad, or bread bowl side plates?
