Whether you are a legit cook or a hack, you can still impress at your next potluck. Just put your favorite recipe (or frozen mac-n-cheese) in a Things Could Be Worse Casserole Dish and start collecting accolades.
The Things Could Be Worse Casserole is a versatile porcelain baking dish and lid decorated with familiar inconveniences to remind you how good you have it.
Fired using the in-glaze method which means the decorations melt slightly into the surface, like the fine porcelain in museums. Destined to become a treasured family heirloom.
Made exclusively for Calamityware in the Czech Republic.
Use & Care
Great for any cooking projects that require a big, beautiful, baking dish that you aren’t embarrassed to bring to the table. To save cabinet space, the lid can be stored upside down inside the casserole base.

I bought the coffee cup set in the pandemic as a way to cheer up our daily lives. They are dishwasher friendly, haven't stained with daily coffee use, are PERFECT to drink from with excellent mouth feel and balance. (I'm a mug snob). They bring a small piece of happiness to my every morning routine. And I love supporting a small business that creates such quality pieces. Thank you!
Just received the Things Could Be Worse Casserole Dish from the Kickstarter campaign. This must be the most beautiful casserole dish I have owned over the years. Well constructed. A substantial dish. And such a generous size. I love the cat in the bottom of the dish. The lid fits well. So happy with the way the dish is packed in the box. Some good thought went into the packaging design; and a good thing: the outside of the box was damaged in shipping. The product inside was perfect, protected by the cradle of cardboard. Toughest question facing me now: what to cook in it first.
I have other complimentary Calamity ware. This centerpiece item matches perfectly with both the durable practicality & the whimsy of the designers. This casserole will both cook, & present to family & guests admirably.
I've purchased 3 mugs, 2 20oz mugs and a tall travel mug.
I love them all! We use them all the time. No chips, no cracks, no discolouration. Very good quality.
After all, Things Could Always Be Worse!
The casserole dish is the perfect size for the thanksgiving stuffing. It recipe is the entire bag of stuffing, celery, onion, apple and sage sausage. I expected to have to cook some separately but this dish held it all. It performs beautifully in the oven and looked charming on the table. So glad I got it!
The casserole dish is absolutely beautiful. A balanced handle, too. I hesitated for like a year before buying this gem - foolish me. We are making vegetable lasagna with rando shaped homemade noodles this weekend. I cannot wait to test drive a baked casserole. In our family - if I get a new pair of shoes; my husband gets a new fishing pole...Oh those lowly underappreciated shoes. This time, his only casserole dish comment was: that's nice! It's great to on the same Calamityware page. Three cheers for a man that proudly wears his gingerbread man pin on his winter beanie, and appreciates a perfectly gorgeous and well made casserole dish!
