Time travel can be messy. Like the time you returned from a prehistoric visit and a microraptor accidentally came through the time portal in your luggage. Or the time you went back to the 60s to get a copy of your grandmother's recipe for hushpuppies and somehow prevented your sister's existence. Don't you hate when that happens?

Discombobulated timelines are the theme of Don Moyer's new, old-fashioned-looking cotton throw. The design is an homage to traditional textiles (quilting, needlepoint, and embroidery) with the added thrill of mammoths and space ships, a hint of vintage video games, and more surprises. All in a cozy, warm, terra cotta and cream combo.

  • 50"W x 70"L (127 cm x 178 cm).
  • Woven in terracotta and natural cream on a centro jacquard loom to produce a rich, dimensional surface reminiscent of quilted blankets.
  • Meets OEKO-TEX® Certification requirements.
  • Designed by Don Moyer and initially launched as his 61st Kickstarter project in 2022.
  • Specially created for us by Liliana and her wizards at the Piscatextil workshop in Portugal.

    Where it's made

    Using the classic technology of an extra-wide jacquard loom, our friends at Piscatextil in Portugal, painstakingly weave our patterns into cotton throws, bedspreads, and shams. Everyone loves the substantial weight of these textiles and the delightful texture that results from the interaction of the dark and light threads.

    Calamityware is a tiny, five-person, one-dog company headquartered in Pittsburgh. We love bringing the darkly whimsical view of our founder and chief monster-maker, Don Moyer, to life.     I returned from a trip to open an unexpected box - filled with *this*. I wasn’t able to join the kickstarter for this myself and was heartbroken, only for my sister to surprise me as a birthday present. I have the previous blanket, both throw and queen sized, and this is just as well made. The design is woven in, not printed, the texture is durable but still pleasant, it washes well and if you treat it with care, is not prone to staining. Once again, absolutely worth the money for the craftsmanship alone, and the fact the design is brilliant is just aces.

    A unique gift!

    We bought this for our grown daughter's birthday. We figured it would be a gift no one else would think to get her, and she has everything anyway...Guess we raised her right, because she loves it! Her kids fight her for it too. Definitely a hit.

    Delightful

    We ordered this piece to 'throw' over the backrest of our camelback sofa. It is a delight. Adequately cushy in a quilted sort of way, the fabric is soft to the touch. Sunshine over the summer may promote fading, which would be unsurprising since we live in the Southwest. Nonetheless, I wouldn't do it otherwise although I love it enough that I'll consider putting a sheet over the top when the sun is exceptionally fierce. I want to keep this wonderful piece and pass it on as an "hair loom."
