A Cozy, Homey Home

Meet Lynnette.

Lynnette is one of the three owners of Calamityware and most definitely the "Mom" of the group. And this isn't just because she actually is a mom, but because of her kind and nurturing attitude, constant flow of fresh baked goods that she feeds us, and her ability to make us all feel like her home is ours the second we walk into our weekly meetings in her living room. When she isn't focused on Calamityware, she loves to work out, crochet, and watch comedy or mystery TV shows.

Her Home Decor Style:

Her home style is cozy. When someone walks in her house, she wants them to feel warm, comfy, and cozy, and she wants it to smell nice, usually like vanilla. The biggest compliment a guest could pay her is to say that her house feels homey to them.

Her Color Palette:

Lynnette favors rich colors including eggplant purple, cornflower blue, dark green, and mustard amid warm whites and beiges, and leans towards oil-rubbed bronze for any metal accents.
If her aesthetic reminds you of yourself, or someone you know, read on to see what we would recommend to match this style.

Dinner at Mom's

Cozy & Colorful

Lynnette doesn't view the Calamityware Blue of our dishes as a limiting color pallet for her table-scapes, but as a way to add even more rich color to her already colorful setup. Even if she is just having take-out, she will bring it home and put it on one of our dishwasher and microwave safe plates to elevate the meal. Cozy doesn't have to be boring.

Workout Essentials

Exercising Demons Collection

Lynnette is very passionate about working out, so much so that she, along with the other ladies of Calamityware, insisted that we turn our Exercising Demons Water Bottle pattern into a workout tank top and a t-shirt as well. We all think Lynnette is sweet, but maybe that's because she works out five times a week to keep the demons at bay.

Things Could Be Worse Bowls

What does a bowl have to do with working out? Every morning after her workout, Lynnette refuels with a steaming bowl of oatmeal cooked in the microwave. Her favorite bowls are the Things Could Be Worse Bowls because they are so stinking cute and microwave safe. But sometimes she opts for a large 20-oz Things Could Be Worse Mug instead because the handle is convenient and keeps your hand from getting hot after pulling it from the microwave.

Mis-Matched Mash-Up

Anything Goes

Aside from her matching white bedroom furniture, nothing quite matches in any other room of the house. One of her favorite mis-matches is the china cabinet and buffet in her dining room which were acquired from someone who won a locker on Storage Wars, and was selling these two old-fashioned pieces. Juxtapose that to the black dining room table, fancy chandeliers, hand-painted corner curio, and two cool chairs, plus red damask wallpaper, and you’ve got yourself one really eclectic dining room. When anything goes, it's really easy to match that aesthetic. We recommend going crazy in the sale section.

We hope you found this style guide useful in curating your perfect space.

Sincerely,

Lynnette and The Calamityware Team
