A giant robot threatens tranquility on traditional blue-willow dinner plates. Imagine finding that bad boy lurking behind your brussels sprouts.
Rich blue image on 10.5” (26.5 cm) diameter white porcelain dinner plates. Food safe. Microwave safe. Dishwasher safe. Designed by Don Moyer and produced at the award-winning Kristoff porcelain workshop in Poland using the in-glaze decoration process. That means the image is slightly melted into the surface like the fine porcelain you see in museums. This is the 2nd plate in the Calamityware collection. Designed by Don Moyer and initially launched as a Kickstarter project in 2014.
Whimsical plate with monster & darling cups with all manner of preposterous mayhem running around the sides.....& all made so very well.....high quality ware. Totally satisfied, & trying now to resist urge to purchase more, which of course will happen.
Excellent quality & arrived fairly quickly. I would highly recommend.
This is so original and ironic!
Was thrilled with the quality of this plate as well as all of its charming details. I end up showing it to everyone who enters my home. Love it!
Bought as a present for my husband passing a big milestone in his doctoral program. He eats lunch off of it most days now and loves it!
I originally backed this idea on Kickstarter, an was extremely happy with the end result. The plate is beatiful, the quality is superb, the hilarity is sublime.
Because of the import tax in Norway I had to pay the governement around 300million dollars to get it into the country, but I`m still getting a full set.
Buy it, love it, eat pasta on it, smile as the picture of beatiful weirdnes meets your eye.
This was my first piece of Calamityware, purchased as a gift for me by my husband on Kickstarter, and I absolutely love it. The craftsmanship is meticulous, the design is amazing, and the overall effect is humorous without being cheesy. It hangs on our wall with other collectible plates from around the world, and it always gets comments. =)
This is my son's favorite plate and he really cherishes it! So glad I ordered a 2nd one before they sold out. Only wish I had ordered more. Hope you do a new giant robot, either in a smaller plate or more large ones.
This is my favorite calamity plate (I say that a lot)! This one gives me flashbacks to the old Underdog cartoon when I was a kid! Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
Don Moyer designs belong in Museums! The flying Monkeys were my first Calamityware love, and then I saw the Robot, then I had to have them all. Don Moyer's patterns are intricate, sharp and unrivaled in originality and whimsy. I've collected almost all of the Calamityware blue plates (how did I miss the Octopus?). I appreciated and studied the original Johnson Brothers Patterns. The Calamityware Series 1 plates are slightly irregular only when they are stacked. You cannot see this irregularity when the plates are on the table. First series is also a little heavier than the Series 2 plates. All Calamityware plates will be appreciated by Blue Willow collectors and blue and white collectors. The Series 2 Kristoff-made porcelain plates are as fun as the first and more in line with the quality of traditional Johnson Brothers plates. The Kristoffs are exactly proportioned and uniform in shape and stack precisely. When Calamityware finds a way to glaze the under bottom rim of these fine plates it will have found perfection. If you have a collector's appreciation for dinnerware, these plates are for you. Unlike vintage dinner plates, these are microwaveable, and are themed for our time so my millennial kids appreciate them too. And the customer service is EXCELLENT.
